NATIONAL UNIVERSITY RUGBY SEVENS CHAMPIONSHIP KICKS OFF IN LANGFORD, BC ON FRIDAY MARCH 2ND
Rugby Canada is pleased to announce that the second annual National University Rugby Sevens Championship will be taking place at Bear Mountain Stadium, a part of the brand new Canadian Rugby Centre of Excellence, from March 2nd-3rd, 2012. This tournament will see the top Men’s and Women’s University rugby programs in the country go head to head in this two-day event.
Last year’s champions, the University of Victoria, look to defend their title against 11 other teams from across the country. The event has also added a Women’s tournament this year, with the University of British Columbia, the University of Guelph, UBC Okanagan, and two teams from the University of Victoria all looking to take home the event’s first women’s championship.
The games kick off on Friday with Women’s qualifying play starting at 10:00 am PST. The first Men’s game is scheduled for 10:44 am PST and will see the defending champs, UVIC, take on UBC. For the full two day schedule in its entirety, please see the bottom of this release.
Tickets for all games will be available at the stadium as well as from our ticket hotline (905) 780 8998 x245 and through email at firstname.lastname@example.org. Single day tickets priced at $10.00 and tournament passes priced at $15.00.
